A letter to the best wedding creators in the world by Josh Withers
Shaun Tolhoek from Lemon Tree Film House on building heritage in the wedding industry:
Be a good person to everyone you meet.
The longer you are in the industry the more you realise how much people talk about each other. Good stuff and bad. But it’s got to the point that people are literally asking ‘ tell me your horror stories, who sucks out there? Who should I stay clear of’
I think being easy, being respectful, sharing work is wayyyyy more important than your actual skills. No room for divas.
I remember hearing about a photographer who demanded to sit at the bridal table during reception. Not just asked, demanded! Bride was like WTF, venue and vendors were all thinking the same. But I can guarantee he’s not around because that sort of behavior sticks.
It’s not a really ground breaking skill to teach. But in the heat of the moment when vendors are stressed, the rain is pouring down, that’s when you’ve got to make some good calls.
